Compensation Systems introduction 

This suite enables users to review examples of compensation systems available for use in group practices relying on the Stark law’s exception for in-office ancillary services designed with Stark law compliance in mind.

Click on the compensation system description below to access information on the plan method. Each discussion of a plan methodology includes:

  • Narrative description of the plan methodology – i.e., how the methodology works;

  • Assessment of the system’s strengths and weaknesses – from the standpoint of the Stark law, and from the viewpoint of compensation experts; and

  • Funds flow example showing the calculations.

Every user should review the introductory section below to gain an understanding of the Stark law’s Compensation Test, which serves as the overall framework in which group practice compensation systems operate.
